And the winner is...

The winners of the Audie Awards have just been announced, and as usual they've chosen some great titles!  For those not in the know, the Audies are the Audio Publishers Association awards for excellence in audiobooks.  Here are some of the highlights:

Audiobook of the year:
Life by Keith Richards

As lead guitarist of the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards created the riffs, the lyrics, and the songs that roused the world. A true and towering original, he has always walked his own path, spoken his mind, and done things his own way.

Mystery of the year:
The Reversal by Michael Connelly

Longtime defense attorney Mickey Haller is recruited to change stripes and prosecute the high-profile retrial of a brutal child murder. After 24 years in prison, convicted killer Jason Jessup has been exonerated by new DNA evidence. Haller is convinced Jessup is guilty, and he takes the case on the condition that he gets to choose his investigator, LAPD Detective Harry Bosch.

Non-fiction of the year:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells—taken without her knowledge—became one of the most important tools in medicine.

Thriller/suspense of the year:
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson

Lisbeth Salander--the heart of Larsson's two previous novels--lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She's fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she'll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders.

And some fantastic runners up:

The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan (Children)
This Time Together by Carol Burnett (Biography)
Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh (Business)
Fall of Giants by Ken Follett (Fiction)
The Postmistress by Sarah Blake (Fiction)
Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk by David Sedaris (Humor)

There are many more, so click here for the complete list!
